Featuring some of the busiest jazz and crossover musicians on the Bay Area scene, ATOM Ensemble is an exciting new project formed in 2025 over a series of residencies produced by Wyldflowr Arts/Rootstock Arts in Oakland. Vocalist Roopa Mahadevan, pianist and flautist Erika Oba, bassist Chris Trinidad, and drummer Kevin Amos integrate their multifaceted musical and cultural heritages to create a new diasporic sound that is uniquely Bay Area.
Their multilingual repertoire features original music drawing on experimental jazz, Indian Carnatic traditions, Japanese folk music, Gregorian Chant, Original Pilipino Music (OPM) and more. Their work has been supported by Oaktown Jazz and the Zellerbach Family Foundation and their debut album releases in Fall 2026.
